hallway + half bath reveal

hallway + half bath reveal

When we first looked at our house 7 years ago, we walked into the foyer from the front door. We instantly were in love. This was the home for us. When we moved in, there was a painting technique that was absolutely beautiful on the walls. But, it wasn't us. But, I wasn't about to paint the 18 foot staircase, foyer and hallway that all blended together. Now that I have done it 7 years later[...]

hazel’s bedroom refresh with beddy’s

Hazel hadn't had a room refresh since she was born, so being that she's 5 -- I thought it was time for one. I switched out her curtains for blinds, cream walls for extra white and smaller rug for a bigger one, so on and so forth. I spend a lot of time on Instagram looking for perfect items, great feeds and new companies. I found Beddy's through another account I follow and was instantly in[...]

the saxon inn reveal

the saxon inn reveal

When I was approached by the Saxon Inn Manager, Kristen, I was excited for 2 reasons. I couldn't wait to decorate a hotel, one. And it was where I went to college, two. Normally when you think of a hotel, it's the same old thing. This being an Inn, at an art school, I had a little more freedom. I was excited to get started. The first score was the lobby and breakfast room. The Inn was b[...]

allison’s home reveal

allison's home reveal

Allison is a friend from high school that recently moved home with her husband and kids. They bought a beautiful home in our town and wanted to have her sitting room and living room done. Her husband recently retired from the military, so I'm sure you can imagine that they're ready to have a place to call home and live comfortably in. Enter: me. When I met with them, her husband Kris, ment[...]

millie’s room reveal

millie's room reveal

This is the story of 2 best friends. These 2 best friends barter for their talents. One paints really well and the other can decorate a room. Kristy is my best friend. Her daughter, Millie, happened to turn 2 today. Here's your present little one -- your big girl room. This was a reveal that I loved doing. Imagine getting to show an almost 2 year old, her room. Add beer into the equatio[...]

heather’s room reveal

heather's room reveal

This room reveal was a special one. Heather is one of those people who is extremely sweet, a great mother and she comes from a family full of love.  She also happened to deliver my youngest, Hazel. When Heather first asked me to do her living room for her, she explained that it was all because of a picture that she loved. Bessie, the cow. Now, this picture isn't just some small thing that[...]

Sunday House Call: A Mother’s Day Edition
This week’s question: What’s something your mom always did in her home—good or bad—that stuck with you?
Mine? Fake fruit, apples on everything, and an unusual devotion to birdhouses.
My kids? They say it’s “artwork and disco balls”… which honestly feels like a win.
Your turn—what did you grow up with that still lives rent-free in your home (or your nightmares)?

Never underestimate the power of a pop of mustard. It’s like sunshine, but sassier.

Tuesday Tips Nobody Asked For: Styling Gallery Walls

Because nothing says “I have my life together” like a curated wall of chaos. I mix things like my kids doodles, a vintage photo of my grandma, the quote “normal people are so weird,” and my late pup’s collar tags—sentimental but make it stylish. Art is personal, and perfection is overrated. Here’s how I make a gallery wall feel like home (and mildly unhinged in the best way).

🛎️ Sunday House Call: Fireplace Edition

Back when we bought this house, we were deep in our barnwood era (weren’t we all?). So naturally, the fireplace got the full rustic treatment. Fast-forward to now, and let’s just say... I’m ready for a little less farm, a little more fresh.

I’m finally gearing up to give it a makeover, but I need your help. Should I just paint it and call it a day? Or do we go bold with vertical slats and give it a whole new vibe?

Drop your opinions, bold ideas, or gentle roasts below—this is a judgment-free renovation zone. Mostly. 📸 @jordanlexuscostello

Introducing Tuesday Tips Nobody Asked For —
This week: how to fake a cozy, moody vibe without accidentally burning your house down.
Flameless candles. Everywhere. In every corner. Bonus points if you get the ones with a remote and pretend you’re living in a Nancy Meyers movie.

I’ve got flameless tapers, pillars — you name it.
You can set them on timers, so you never have to think about turning them on or off (because let’s be real, I won’t remember).
Plus, I still get to use all my pretty candlesticks without worrying about setting the table — or the house — on fire.
Highly recommend living your best cozy life without the drama. 🔥 (but like... not actually)
