Katrina happens to be a good friend of mine, who approached me a while back about decorating her home. Her husband, Jed, built this amazing house for their family of 5. When I announced that I was going to start doing interior styling on a regular basis, she was the first to hop on board. I have been designing and decorating friend’s and family’s homes for many years. I’m that girl that gets the “call Megan and she’ll know what to do” girl. Everyone knows that I thrive on this sort of thing. I have an eye, and I decided to start putting it to good use to help others make their house, a home. I met with Katrina at her home, went over what she has, what she needs, her budget and her style.
Katrina decided to go with the Restoration Collection. I created a mood board of what I thought her style included. I chose a mustard TV stand to add color to the room. I decided to accent this color through the entire makeover because it complimented the color of her walls nicely, which flowed through the entire house. I added in mustard and grey chairs to pull the entire look together. She really wanted to use her existing dining set and chalk paint it, so we left that alone.
Katrina wanted to surprise her whole family with this, and I think she did a great job. They’re a great family to be able to do this for.
