
Since this room gets some of the best natural light, it naturally became the plant room. During the holidays, it also pulls double duty—it’s where most of the plants get relocated when Christmas trees take over the rest of the house.

The One Room Challenge® is a biannual event every spring and fall. Everyone with a blog or Instagram account is welcome to join the fun as a Guest Participant by registering for the event with the room or space you plan to transform. Registration typically opens about a month prior to the event. Every Wednesday during the event, which lasts eight weeks, Guest Participants link their weekly project updates on this site, and spectators and participants can easily follow along by browsing the linkup page.
I have around 75 plants in my house. Yes, you read that right—seventy-five. But I didn’t wake up one day as a full-blown plant mom. I was once the proud owner of a black thumb. If you’ve been tuning in to my new Instagram series, Tuesday Tips Nobody Asked For, I’ll be sharing more about that plant journey in next week’s episode (it’s a tale of trial, error, and one very dramatic fern).
As for now, here are a few of the green roommates currently soaking up the sunshine in this room: a Fiddle Leaf Fig, a few trailing Pothos, a couple of Hoyas, an Audrey Ficus, and about twenty other leafy companions I’ve somehow managed to keep alive.
